AM: 6 miles, :45. Felt good, some spring in my step.
Heading to Seattle for work in a few hours. Running should be good there if I can find the time.
5/31: PM: 6ish, :43 miles. Hot!
6/1: AM: 1 mile. PM: 4+. 1WU, 4x400 w/ 400 rest, 1CD. I’d like to try and run a good 5k or 2 this summer, so I’m heading back to the track. Figured I’d start small. Plan was 4x400 @ :75. Hit ‘em in 72-71-72-73.

5/29: 10 miles in 59:00 (59:30, w/ pit stop), 12 mile total. Jumped in the Soldier Field 10 miler. Didn’t make it a full effort. Cool race—finishes on the 50 yard line at Soldier Field.
5/30: 4 miles
Am: 4. Pm: 2+.
5:23: AM: 5, w/ 400s. Planned on 4x400, but 2 @ :70 in the heat was enough to fry the legs and I wimped out about 10 seconds into the 3rd one. It’ll take me a while to find speed again.
5/24: AM: 6, :45. PM: 4.5, :36. Both runs HOT.
5/20: 4, :30 on the Bloomingdale Trail. That’s probably it for the day but we’ll see.
Good luck to my Philly peeps running Broad Street. May the wind be at your backs.

4/20-4/22: My first days off in 2010.
4/23: AM: 2 miles, 16:30. You know what I learned on this morning’s run? I learned I ran a marathon on Monday. Quads still feeling pretty stabby. Wasn’t planning on running for a week, but it was pretty out and despite the clumsy running it felt good to be out in the fresh air.
Thanks everybody for the nice notes about Monday’s race.
Boston LBRR
A nice day. Perfect temps, a little cross wind, but nothing that was gonna make too much of an impact either way. I rode the bus to the start with a guy who’d run 2:15 at Boston and said even or negative splits were the only way to go, which cemented my plan to go out conservative. Figured I could pass through the half at 1:19 without working too hard, leaving plenty of energy for a strong...
4/12: 7 total. AM: 5 easy, :37. Felt good except for the recurring toe blister. Limited running this week should get rid of it in time for Big Monday. PM: 2, :16. Wasn’t planning a double but needed a little outside time after work.
10 miles, :68. Last 4 steady in 23:50. Felt pretty good.
It’s no double Thursday! Which is less exciting following a no double Monday and a no double Wednesday.
Tapering!
4/5. AM: 4 miles in :29, easy effort.
4/6: 13 total. AM: 7 miles in a wicked thunderstorm … one of those where the lightning and the thunder happened pretty much at the same time. Went 7:54-7:20-7:14-6:50-6:30-6:11-5:56. That just kinda happened—the beauty of the taper. PM: 6, :45. Hot and humid!
